In order to optimise the management of LPG distribution activities, TouchStar partner ‘Athelia Solutions’ develops On Board Computing (OBC) solution for delivery process management. This application manages the planned routes as well as the LPG dispatching bulk tank filling to the clients.
The system consists of the availability of distributions management tools, with functions of routes planning, delivery, invoicing, inventory, and management

of the information of the client. It allows the exchange of files and field information between the ERP of the company and the driver of each vehicle, as well as the supervision of the distribution process.
Each vehicle is equipped with a handheld computer, a printer, a smart box with integrated functionalities as GPS, GSM/GPRS. The smart box is able to communicate with peripherals as tachograph, the indicator of volume, as well as the server application, which generates the sending and the reception of information.
Each tank is identified with a RFID tag, where is stored the information related to each distribution process.
This way, all the key information is offered to the truck drivers in order to make easier and to improve their daily operations.
The components of this solution are:
- RFID tag fixed to the stationary tank, for distribution in bulk.
- Handheld computer (ATEX certification in option) with touch screen, to allow on-screen signature capture. RFID tag or barcode readers integrated.
- Portable printer in each vehicle or integrated on the handheld.
- Smart box with GSM/GPRS system for data transmission, and GPS system for positioning location.
- Management distribution software GasTruck embedded in the handheld.
- Interface to the ERP.
