With any of these devices, coupled with our Street Lighting Maintenance Package, TouchIT LM, the task of recording repair crew time and materials quickly and accurately on-site without paper is now easier and more cost effective than ever.

With TouchIT LM, fault information from Night Patrols or the General Public recorded each day is allocated and issued to the crews in line with your current procedures and practices. The main difference being that this activity is now carried out on-screen using a PC based product called Data Control. All repair jobs, are then uploaded to the hand held devices and taken out by the crews.

As the work is completed, relevant data associated with each job, such as time taken, work carried out and materials used, is recorded and the information returned at the end of each day. Data Control extracts all the data from the units and transfers completed work to the Host System to allow billing to be carried out in the usual way. Any incomplete work is offered for re-allocation.

The system allows data to be made available instantly with no need for time consuming and sometimes erroneous manual keying. This enables invoices to be produced in a much shorter time, thereby speeding up payment to Contractors and providing much more accurate and timely budget control to the Authority.

In the field, the repair crews also obtain major benefits. Before proceeding to his first lamp, the Electrician checks on the screen of his hand held device, the list of work to be carried out that day. Upon arrival, he simply touches the first job and the background data and history associated with that unit is displayed. The repair is carried out and the Electrician confirms that he has completed the instructions. He records all bill items and materials by selecting them from a series of filtered pick lists of those that are relevant.

Using the internal clock of the TouchPC, the time taken to repair each fault can be automatically recorded along with travelling time between jobs. This data is included in the download and can also be used to measure performance standards and provide a wealth of management information. It can also be invaluable when dealing with both internal queries and those from the General Public.

Data Control can be provided in a form whereby all of these functions are linked in a simple and user friendly manner enabling you to virtually dispense with paper within the operation completely.
