Authorised TouchStar partner ‘IKI Portable Solutions’ offer a range of practical rugged hand held computers for a raft of applications. With any of these devices, coupled with our Night Patrollers' Package, TouchIT NP, the task of collecting and referring to essential lighting fault data whilst on-site is now easier and more cost effective than ever.

The Authority’s Inventory is broken down in line with the Night Patrol Rounds. Work is then allocated, according to your current procedures and frequencies, on a PC based product called Data Control.

Inventory, related to the round(s) to be carried out that night, together with your standard Fault Descriptions and Repair History if required, is uploaded to the hand held device and patrol work commences. At the end of the shift all faulty units recorded are downloaded to your Host System for repairs to be carried out in the usual way. The main difference is that this data is made available instantly with no need for time consuming keying. This enables you to provide a more rapid response and therefore enhancements in service levels.

Upon arrival at the starting point of that night's round, the Night Patroller is presented with a list of streets displayed in the appropriate sequence. As he drives down the first one he simply touches the panel showing that particular street name on his screen to be shown the inventory of lighting items related to that street.

Should any of these items be faulty, a touch of the lamp reference concerned provides the Patroller with the fault description list. After selecting the appropriate, and client specific, fault description for that item, the system reverts to the inventory list for that street in readiness for the next faulty unit to be identified. When each street is completed, a " Done " button is touched, the completed street is removed from the list, and the next street made ready for selection.

It could not be simpler. All streets are visited. All lamps get checked. You can even have an automatic time stamp included so that you know when each street was visited and completed!

Furthermore, the system can be readily integrated with other IKI TouchIT products. TouchIT LM, for instance, uses the output data from the Night Patrollers to create the job workload for the Engineers via Data Control and a further set of hand held computers.

As with all IKI TouchIT applications, the emphasis is on ease of use and rapid data entry. This approach ensures user acceptance and minimises training costs.
